BIRD ON A WIRE

kingfisher2

Human beings do not invent the beauty and value of nature –we only recognize it. And we are not the only beings who do. That birdsong is sometimes a bird’s open-hearted response to the natural beauty the bird itself experiences, it has nothing to do with mating or survival.

I watched this kingfisher in admiration this morning as it dodged the fish hook that hung so precariously on the same wire it decided to perch on and look for his breakfast. I wondered how long it would be before another bird flew into it unaware and caught it in his wing. I also wondered about all the dangers out there for our wildlife that remains unseen to the most of us and how humans mostly contributed to that.

As mankind searches endlessly for pleasures exploiting nature without any moral restraint our planet has been rendered almost incapable of sustaining a healthy life. Just like that Kingfisher balancing himself on the wire of life I continue to swim upstream with mindfulness.

Love reading what you write. I read it once then read it a second time and think about what you are saying. Enjoy your day. Murray
