Even when an artist does produce something seemingly original the source of that idea must have been from somewhere other than themselves. I wondered about that this week as I picked up my paintbrushes and tried to put the finishing touches on some work I began a few years ago. It felt right to get back to it with no pressure and just the desire to dabble in paint again.
I let myself go and before I knew it I was back in Tuscany, sipping wine in Chianti, enjoying walnuts, porcini mushrooms and truffles. The colors allowed me to tremble, be moved and I felt loved, I was vibrantly alive.
A miracle of optics danced in my mind and I knew that on this day my imagination was my reality.
